Shirley June Reynolds, age 78, Joplin, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Shirley was born May 28, 1940 in Joplin, daughter of the late Cecil Gillion and Rena Nell Piper Gillion. She was a pastor's wife for 21 years, being by her husband's side while they pastored Bethel Apostolic Church. She was also a cook for the Joplin School District, and was co-owner of the family business, J.E. Reynolds and Sons Construction, which they operated for over 40 years. She was currently a member of Life Point Pentecostal Church of Joplin.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John E. Reynolds, who passed away on March 16, 2018, a brother, Jimmy Carl; four sisters, Mary Ellen Taylor, Ada Ruth Crunkleton, Imogene Huffman, and Glenda Nell Johnson.
Survivors include her two sons, Johnny Reynolds and wife Becky, Mark Reynolds and wife Rhonda all of Joplin; five grandchildren, Stephen Reynolds and wife Faith, Caleb Reynolds and wife Brooklynn, Ethan Reynolds, Elijah Reynolds, and Abigail Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, Grant Reynolds, Lane Reynolds, and Landon Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at LifePoint Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert Sill and Pastor Fred Oates officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Life Point Pentecostal Church.
