Dakota Howard Williams-Menear, age 17, of Hoberg, Missouri, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at his home. He was born August 31, 2001, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Dustin and Rana (Rash) Williams.
Dakota was a student at Mt. Vernon High School and was a patient with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He attended Summit Baptist Church and Lifebridge Assembly of God Church in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Dakota is survived by his parents, Roger and Rana Menear and his other mother, Sheila Zook all of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; two sisters, Raven Menear of Mt. Vernon and Maci Williams of Wichita, Kansas; four brothers, Trenton Menear of Mt. Vernon, Dylan Stumph of Webb City, Missouri, Travis Sims of Wichita, Kansas and Kyle Menear of Sarcoxie, Missouri; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Geri Rash, of Hoberg, Missouri; his father Dustin Williams of Kansas and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
His paternal grandparents, Raymond and Florence Menear and great-grandparents preceded him in death.
A funeral service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the Northside Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the church.
