Pat Oxford

Mrs. Patricia Gale “Pat” Oxford, 71, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Monday evening, October 8, 2018, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after months of declining health.

Pat entered this life on December 19, 1946, in Eugene, Oregon, daughter of the late Donald and Mamie (Johnson) Barnes. She was raised in Pineville, Missouri, and was a 1965 graduate of Pineville High School.

 On February 18, 1966, she was united in marriage to Charles W. “Buck” Oxford and to this union two children were born. Pat worked hard throughout her life. For forty years she was a legal secretary for the Paul Law Firm, retiring in January of 2018. Early in her life she worked for the Jim Paul Law Firm, Dr. Stiles in Pineville, Missouri and for the McDonald County Circuit Clerk and Recorder's office. She was extremely creative and a talented seamstress. She also enjoyed reading and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of forty-nine years, Buck Oxford on May 29, 2015.

Pat is survived by her two children, Tony Oxford of Anderson and Lisa Hodson and husband, Lee, also of Anderson; two grandchildren, Whitlee Hodson and Tanner Hodson; two brothers, Steven Barnes of Bentonville, Arkansas and Craig Bittle of Canton, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, numerous “adopted kids”, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services for Mrs. Oxford are 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to a memorial scholarship account and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
