Mary Catherine (Youngblood) Evert, 82, Granby, MO entered into eternal rest on October 6, 2018. Mary was born July 13, 1936 in Granby, MO to Tommy and Rosie (Vicory) Youngblood.
She attended Granby High School until the 11th grade when she left to marry her high school sweetheart, Enoch D. Black. Mary and Enoch were united in marriage on November 13, 1954. To this union four children were born. Mary and Enoch spent much of their young lives together in California. After her separation from Enoch, she moved back to Granby to be close to family. Mary worked at the Granby garment factory for many years. She enjoyed her flower gardening and crocheting.
Mary is survived by her son, Douglas Black of Sherwood, AR; daughters, Diana Rhinehart of Seneca, MO, Gayle Yetter (Kevin) of Neosho, MO and Colleen Pierce of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Cary, Michelle, Tarin, Anthony and Charity; one brother, Larry Youngblood (Marsha) of Butler, MO; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and other loved ones who will miss her greatly. The memories she shared and made with her family will be cherished always.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Youngblood in 1976; her mother, Rosie (Vicory) Gilbert in 1986; sister, Helen Marie Youngblood in 1949; brother, Thomas Ray Youngblood in 1998; sister, Arnetta Louise Judd in 2015; sister, Ruth Leona Istre in 2016; husband, Fred Evert in 1991; and husband, John Paul Galindo in 2010.
Memorial services and interment will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, Springfield, MO. Mary’s cremains will be placed in the niche wall beside her husband, John Galindo.
