Rhonda Jordan

Rhonda Sue Jordan, age 56, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home after a four year battle with cancer.

Rhonda was born April 29, 1962 in Joplin, daughter of the late Glen and Delta Stayton. She grew up in Joplin, attended Memorial High School, and was a dispatcher with Jordan Disposal. She enjoyed baking, and was known for her elaborate wedding and anniversary cakes. She was also a big hit with her grandkids for her special birthday cakes.

In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by a sister, Treva Ashworth.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Russell D. Jordan; son, Russell D. "Rusty" Jordan, Jr.; daughter, Amber G. Jordan; grandchildren, Hunter Jordan, Whitney Davis, Gillian Jordan, and Cole Davis all of Joplin; brother, Ed Stayton and wife Pam of Joplin; sisters, Nina Wells and husband Gayle of Grove, Oklahoma, Wilma Chester and Linda Carnes and husband Ronnie both of Joplin; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery with Denny Carver officiating.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
