Levy Cleveland Sirmon, age 62 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following a sudden illness.
Levy was born on November 28, 1955 in Oneonta, Al., the son of Rufus and Jeanette (Kimbro) Sirmon. He attended Auburn University. Levy has been a long-time area resident, he worked as an Assistant Manager at Lowe’s for many years until he retired in 2016. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing, watching Auburn Tigers Football and spending time with his loving family.
He married Diane Holliday on February 27, 1982, she preceded him in death on February 13, 2016. Survivors include two sons, Jennings Sirmon and wife Hayley of Joplin, Shelton Sirmon stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.; one brother, Steve Sirmon of Montgomery, Al.; one sister, Susan Sirmon also of Montgomery; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday for a time of visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
