Lynn Jones, 69, Neosho, passed away October 18, 2018 after an extended illness.
She was born April 4, 1949 in Joplin, MO to George and Patricia (Carver) Dasbach and spent most of her life in the SW MO area. Lynn earned her Master of Elementary Education from SMS and was an innovator of the Reading Curriculum for the Neosho school system. She had taught in Carthage, St. Charles and Aurora before starting in Neosho in 1971, where she taught until her retirement in 2004. Lynn was a member of the First Christian Church in Neosho where she loved to teach Sunday school and to participate in the Church’s annual pie baking activities and Amore dinner. She was a past Girl Scout troop leader, enjoyed doing mission work, and traveling, especially on trains, with her husband, John. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her granddaughter, Willow.
Lynn married John T. Jones in Neosho in 1985; he preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by three children, Jeremiah Jones and wife, Stephanie of Carthage, MO; Todd LeMaster of Kansas City, MO; and Christy LeMaster and partner, David Langkamp of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Jones and Janice Skelton; one sister, Jane Franklin of Tulsa, OK; and beloved granddaughter, Willow Jones of Carthage.
Services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, October 22, 2018 at First Christian Church, Neosho, MO with Rev. Al Gritten officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the Church, prior to services, beginning at 12:00. Interment will follow service at Newtonia IOOF Cemetery, Newtonia, MO. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Lynn be made to the First Christian Church Education Fund, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
