Vonda Ruth Roderick, 74, Carthage, MO, passed away early Saturday morning, September 29, 2018 at her home with family by her side. Vonda Ruth Bennett was born February 24, 1944 in Kasson, WV to the late Roy Bennett and Martha H. (Nethken) Bennett. She graduated from high school in Columbus, OH in 1979. She worked in food service at McCune-Brooks Mercy Hospital in Carthage. Vonda married Charles Roderick on August 18, 1962 in Lisbon, OH; he survives. She was a member of the First PresbyterianChurch, Carthage.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Anita Dallies (Jerry), Joplin, MO; two brothers, Leonard Bennett (Emily), Columbiana, OH, and Daniel Bennett (Cheryl), Salem, OH; one sister, Ulah Blakeman (Robert), Springfield, OH; five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Timmy Roderick, and one sister Wanda Bennett.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Fasken Cemetery, Carthage. Rev. Greg Esselman officiated. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
