Mary DePriest

Mary Faye Edmonds DePriest, Anderson, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Benton House of Staley Hills in Kansas City, Missouri on October 20, 2018. Mary was born February 3, 1927 in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Maud (Long) Edmonds.
 
Mary was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crocheting afghans and quilted many beautiful quilts. She attended many of her daughters’ music concerts, contests, parades and other school activities. She served as secretary – treasurer for the Puckett Christian Church and had been a member of Union Chapel Church for many years. 
 
Mary married Nelson DePriest on May 11, 1946 in Pineville, Missouri and he preceded her in death March 16, 1989. 

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Lentz and husband, Hale; two grandsons, Chris Lentz and wife, Stazie and Patrick Lentz and wife, Taryn; one great granddaughter, Olivia Acosta Lentz and one sister, Lela Mae Cook. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine; two brothers, Norman and Billie Edmonds and one sister, Ava Rose Daniels.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Mark Sumler, minister will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Hale Lentz, Chris Lentz, Patrick Lentz, Kenneth Cook, Kervin Cook and Murphy Bigelow. The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from noon until service time.
