Sheila E. Thornton, 59, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday evening, October 8, 2018, at her home with family by her side.
Sheila Elaine Dickson was born August 23, 1959 in Kennett, MO to Carl LeRoy Dickson and Ophelia (Eagan) Dickson. She graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1977. She then received her Associate of Technical Acts degrees from Centralia Community College and Washington State. Sheila married Kenneth W. Thornton on April 2, 2012 in Eureka Springs, AR; he survives. She worked at Justin Boot for 13 years and then worked at Jasper Popcorn in Jasper for one year. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Church of God, Carthage.
Survivors include her mother, Ophelia; her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Matthew Wayne Thornton, Carthage, MO, and Steve Wayne Bicondova, Euphrata, WA; two daughters, Lisa Marie Thornton, Milford, IL, and Tina Marie Maggard (Christopher), Carl Junction, MO; one brother, Robert Calvin Taylor, Jr., Lamar, MO; four sisters, Roma Stark (Marty), Neosho, MO, Theresa Hampton, Springfield, MO, Shawna Marie Beam (James), Carthage, MO, and Kimberly Ann Vann, Carthage, MO; and eight grandchildren, Alexis Bicondova, Olivia Bicondova, Carver Anderson, Mason Valle, Chloe Valle, Connor Valle, Dennis Maggard, and Ellisa Maggard.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl, one daughter, Amy May Bicondova, and one brother, Donald Wayne Stepp.
A celebration of life were held 6 pm, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Grand Avenue Church of God, Carthage. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial gifts are suggested to American Cancer Society in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
