Bonnie Hood

Bonnie Lorene Hood age 91 of Joplin, Mo. passed away February 15, 2014 following a short illness.

 She was born March 17, 1922 in Joplin, Mo., to Randolph and Ruby (Ledford) Gourley. Lorene retired in 1984 after working at King Louie Press, Baxter Springs, Ks. and Elder Manufacturing in Carl Junction and Webb City.

 She married Roy Hood on August 11, 1940 in Columbus, Ks., and he preceded her in death . She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grandchild. Lorene is survived by 3 sons; Leroy Hood, Joplin, Mo., Harold Hood and wife Sharon, Wichita, Ks., Lonnie Hood and wife Valorie, Joplin, Mo., 5 daughters; Maxine Rion and husband Stanley, Crestline, Ks., Marie Walls, Webb City, Mo., Louise Marks-Sweet and husband Ted, Joplin, Mo., Elaine Burditt and husband Doyle, Wichita, Ks., Rhonda Miller and husband Mike, Galena, Ks., 1 brother Dean Gourley and Patty, Neosho, Mo., 2 sisters; Norma Ball, Joplin, Mo., Earlene Doke and husband Richard, Joplin, Mo. 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday February 18, 2014 at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Carl Junction Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Those gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be, Lonnie Rion, Troy Marks, Jerry Danley, Harold Miller, Leonard Goodpasture and Joshua Hood. Honorary pallbearers will be, Donnie Rion, Robert Marks, Marty Marks, Michael Danley, and Dennis Carter. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home & Crematory, Webb City, Mo.
