Margaret Elizabeth Boatman, 91, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Freeman Health Systems.
She was born August 26, 1922, in San Bernardino, California to the late Elmer and Ethel Mae (Fenton) Paine.
Margaret married the love of her life, John Boatman, on June 15, 1940, just three days after graduating high school. They were married for 73 loving years. Margaret loved the Lord and was a faithful servant, always doing anything needed in the church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. Her husband and family were her joy and delight here on earth. She had a beautiful smile, bright eyes and a very loving heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her husband John, of the home; two children, son, Phillip Alan Boatman and his wife Karen of Escondido, CA, daughter, Linda Diane Boles and husband Kenny of Joplin; four grandchildren, Kim Boatman and April McBride of Escondido, CA, Leigh Anne Johnson of Franklin, IN and Eric Boles of Shawnee, KS; four great-grandchildren, Hope McBride, Sydney Johnson, Simon and Sarah Boles; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, sister, Callean Petersen and brother, Allen Paine..
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Villa Heights Christian Church.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
