Mary Wallace

Mary Lou Wells Wallace, age 86 of Joplin, Mo, passed away on Friday January 31, 2014 at the Sprig River Christian Village in Joplin, Mo.

 She was born on April 8 1927 at Montana Switch, Ks the daughter of John Henry and Dora Dell “Caldwell” Wells. She married LeRoy Albert “Fluffy” Wallace on March 31, 1946 in Miami, Oklahoma he preceded her in death after 56 years in 2003. She worked as a supervisor for Digital Electronics in Westfield, Ma, and as a housewife raising her children. She enjoyed league bowling, gardening and her grandchildren.

 Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Leona Wells, Quanita Wells, George Wells, Thomas F. Wells, Neta Bell Joy and William F. Wells. She is survived by daughters: Linda Buswell and husband J. Stephen of Marengo, IA, Judith A. Shimandle and husband Russ of La Grange, GA and A. LeRae Scroggins and husband Randy of Joplin, MO; a son LeRoy A Wallace II of Joplin, MO; nine grandchildren: M. Christopher Buswell and Wife Angela, of Marengo, IA, A. Rion Buswell and wife Angela of Parker, CO, Tara Shimandle of Atlanta, GA, Blair Shimandle, La Grange, GA, Austin Miller and Hannah Miller both of Joplin, MO, Lee and Chelsea Wallace of Westfield, MA, and eight great grandchildren.

 Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday February 5, 2012 at the Mason- Woodard Mortuary Chapel with Wallace E. Baldwin Officiating. Burial will follow in the Oswego County Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday February 4, at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to St. Judes Children Hospital or Mercy Hospice in care of the Mortuary.
