Rose Fisher

Rose Etta Rainey Fisher, age 71, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away at her home on February 18, 2014 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Rose was born June 6, 1942 to the late Frank and Nona Bell Garrison Rainey in Carl Junction, Missouri and was a resident of Joplin her entire life.

On May 24, 1973, Rose married Joe Fisher in Webb City, Missouri. He survives at the home.

Rose was a hard and dedicated worker. She retired from Martin Oil Company after dedicating many years assisting the late Larry Martin as his personal assistant. Rose loved to be outside. She enjoyed flowers and gardening as much as she could. She worked hard living on the farm helping her husband out as his second hand. Rose was a faithful member of the Seneca Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by a daughter, Taylor Hopper and husband Tommy of Langley, OK; one son, Randy Green and wife Laura of Seneca; step-daughter, Elizabeth Downing of Carthage; step-sons, Rusty Fisher of Webb City and Robert Fisher of Carthage; two sisters, Mary Brown and Sandy Spencer, both of Carthage; one brother, Johnnie Rainey of Joplin; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney and Randy Green and brothers LeRoy and James Rainey.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 21, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Seneca Christian Church. Gerald Griffin, minister, will be officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
