Herbert Lee Moser, age 90 of Webb City, MO, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at his home.
Born December 22, 1923 in Trinidad, CO, he was the son of the late Harvey J. Moser and Ollie Della Ledford Moser and moved to the Joplin area as a young boy. He lived in California from 1959-1977, and returned to the Joplin area. He was ordained in the Pentecostal Church of God in 1960 and served as pastor of several churches in California and Missouri. He then worked 10 years as a machinist with H.E. Williams in Carthage, retiring in 1989. He was well known as a greeter with Wal-Mart for many years. Herb was a member of Victory Faith Center. He served as president of Senior Adult Ministries for several years and as Prayer Coordinator for the Central Missouri District. From 1952 until his death, Herb was busy spreading the Word of God. He always had a joke to tell and had a great sense of humor. Herb was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Oma Dean Townsend Moser in 1991. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and grandson, Michael, in 2008.
Survivors include three sons, Herbert Len Moser of Texas, Rev. John Lee Moser of Sacramento, CA, Stephen Paul Moser of Neosho, MO; a daughter, Sandra Dean Clyde of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Gillespie of Webb City; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a few great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Victory Faith Center, 808 Brownell in Joplin, with Rev. Jay Farris officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary.
