Della Marie Martin age 88 of Carl Junction passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Webb City Health & Rehab.
She was born on June 18, 1925 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Theodore A. Berry and Bessie Washburn Berry. Della worked as a seamstress at the Elders Clothing Factory in Carl Junction and Webb City, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction.
She married Merle J. Martin on January 2, 1943 in Joplin, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2002. Della is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Laughlin and husband Roger of Carl Junction, Nancy Ulmer and husband Tommy of Pittsburg, Kansas; sons, Jerry Martin of Webb City, Carl Dean Martin and wife Sharon of Carl Junction; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Carl Junction with Reverend Russell Roderique officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
Those serving as pallbearers will be, Josh Laughlin, Trevor Wallis, Darrell Hicks, John Lundien, Ryan Evitts and Jeff Ulmer. Burial will be in Carl Junction Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Carl Junction Cemetery Association.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
