Dalton Ellis Harbaugh, age 70, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Saturday February 8, 2014, at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Mo., following a sudden illness.
Dalton was born on February 12, 1943 in Joplin, the son of the late Dalton and Mary Ellen (Shallenberger) Harbaugh. He served in the United States Air Force. He married Gloria Fisher on September 4, 1963 in Joplin. Together they raised three children. He worked for FAG, retiring in 2000. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dalton is survived by his wife of fifty years, Gloria Harbaugh, Branson, Mo.; one son, Tracy Harbaugh and wife Joyce, Diamond, Mo.; one daughter Robin Monroe and husband Mike, Joplin; one brother, Chester Martin, Spring City, Mo.; one sister, Mary Jo Harlan, Joplin; five grandchildren, Spencer Harbaugh, Kirk Monroe, Ian Monroe, Sara Harbaugh, and Josh Harbaugh. He was preceded in death by one son, Rocky Harbaugh; and one brother, Clinton Harbaugh.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Osborne Cemetery. Pastor David Shumaker will officiate. The pallbearers will be Tracy Harbaugh, Spencer Harbaugh, Kirk Monroe, Ian Monroe, and Danny Martin. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
