Lois Powers

Lois Jeanne Jun Pierce Powers, 93, Neosho, died Feb. 4, 2014 at her home, following a sudden illness. Lois was born July 1, 1920 in Webster Groves, Missouri. She had worked as a secretary in the St. Louis County Public Schools and moved to Neosho in 1983 from Hermann, MO. Lois loved to quilt, crochet and do needle point; she was a former board member and officer of the Newton County Center for Seniors; a member of the Newcomer’s Club and Out to Lunch Bunch and a member of the First Christian Church where she was active in Sunday School. Lois is preceded in death by her spouses, Robert Jun, Cornell Pierce and Paul Powers. She is survived by three children, Marian Winters and husband, Curt, California, MD; Steve Pierce and wife, Pat, Essex Junction, VT and Dianne Hammons, and husband, C. R., Neosho; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Viewing was held Friday, February 7, at Clark Chapel of Memories, with visitation held Saturday. The funeral service was held  1 p.m. Saturday at Clark Chapel of Memories.
