Gary Jay McManis, age 72, of Lamar, Missouri passed away February 28, 2020 in Lamar, MO.
Gary was born November 5, 1947 in Lockwood, MO to Albert Jay McManis and Lena Justine (Mayo) McManis. He graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1966 and went on to study at MSSU. On September 23, 1977, Gary married Diane Hines in Lamar, MO.
Gary worked as an insurance agent for over 45 years, was a member of the Optimist Club, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid Cardinals baseball fan.
Survivors include parents Albert and Justine McManis, Lamar, MO; Diane McManis, Lamar, MO; a son Brock McManis, Lamar, MO; a daughter Brista Poor and her husband Justin, Springfield, MO; two brothers, Bob McManis and wife Carolyn, Lamar, MO; Gayland McManis and wife Carla, Golden City, MO; a sister Judy Ferris, Lamar, MO; and one grandson Jaydin McManis. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Larry Ferris.
A Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Daniel Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service.
