Charles Jennings

Charles Allen Jennings, age 89, of Seligman, Missouri, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Northwest Arkansas Medical Center, Springdale. Firstborn of Ralph Douglas Jennings and Bessie Faye Arnold, Charles was born on May 5, 1933, in Waterville, Kansas.

Charles attended elementary school in Waterville, Kansas, until a family move to Brush Creek, east of Powell, Missouri, while in the second grade. He would then attend Fox School through the eighth grade, moving on to high school in Rocky Comfort, where he would eventually graduate in 1951.








Subsequent to graduation, Charles would relocate to California, where he worked for his uncle on a dairy farm in Ukiah. While there, Charles met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Lowes, and they were united in marriage on February 28, 1953.

Charles was drafted by the United States Army and served stateside during the Korean conflict. Upon completing his service, Charles would return to Missouri, where he farmed for MFA in Brookline until 1961 and Cox and Davis Dairy in Republic until 1966. Charles and Betty then moved to Washburn, where they made their home, raised a family and farmed cattle on 80 scenic acres. Charles retired from Wendt Sonis in Rogers, Arkansas, (later Rogers Tool Works) after 29 years, spending his golden years happily on the farm.

Charles is survived by his four sons, Tom Jennings and wife Linda, of Seligman, Bill Jennings and wife Monica, of Washburn, John Jennings and his wife Christine, of Conway Arkansas, and Ralph Jennings, of Anderson; six grandchildren, Jacob, Stephanie, Caleb, Mackenzie, Terry, and Rebecca; two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Veronica; two brothers, Jim Jennings, of Alabama, and Richard Jennings, of Florida; one sister, Marilyn, of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.








In addition to his parents, Ralph Jennings and Bessie Arnold, and his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Jennings, Charles was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jimmy Jones.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Fox Cemetery in Powell, Missouri with Pastor Billie Joe Gentry officiating.

Memorial contributions in honor of Charles Jennings may be made to Fox Cemetery and entrusted to the White Funeral Home & Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
