Shawn Howard

Mr. Shawn Daniel Howard, 38, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

Shawn entered this life on November 10, 1983, in Joplin, Missouri, the youngest of three sons born to the union of Gerald and Teddy (Evans) Howard. He was a lifelong area resident and a 2002 graduate of Joplin High School. 

Following high school, he enlisted and served in the United States Army. He was employed by Glen’s Diesel Shop as a mechanic for several years. Shawn was currently employed by CFI as a Road Service Specialist Sr. 

Shawn was a true outdoors man. He enjoyed camping, fishing, beekeeping, bowling and could fix just about anything with a mechanical motor.

His father, Gerald Howard, preceded him in death along with his maternal and paternal grandparents.

 

Shawn is survived by his mother, Teddy Howard of Joplin; his soulmate, Ashley “Ali” West of Joplin; two brothers, Shelby Howard and wife, Lindsey and Stacy Howard and wife, Alanna, all of Joplin; three nieces, Jodie, Aleah and Carlie Howard; a nephew, Dalton Howard; two aunts, Caroljane Fox and Becky Mitchell both of Webb City; an uncle Harold Howard of Ardmore, Oklahoma; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, in the Chapel of Parker Mortuary in Joplin with family friend Brian Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.
