Tedd Sabo

Mr. Theodore Francis Sabo, 84, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in the comfort of his home after months of declining health.

Theodore –or Tedd as he was known— was born on December 14, 1937, in Queens, New York, the eldest of eight children born to the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Moor) Sabo. He was raised in Queens and graduated high school from Jamaica High School. 







Following high school, Tedd enlisted and served his country faithfully in the United States Army from October of 1959 until February of 1962, before he was honorably discharged. While in the service, he received his training in electronics, specifically in two-way radio communications, and was licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. He resided in New York until moving to Missouri in 1976 and purchasing a forty-acre farm in Spring City, Missouri. 

Throughout his life, Tedd was an electronics technician, skilled in installing and repairing a variety of electronic devices used by the local fire and police departments. Children and animals were drawn to Tedd and he was a magnet for both. He enjoyed dancing and working with computers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

Tedd is survived by his loving companion of thirty years, Lana Thoreson; two sons, Jonathan Sabo and wife, Megan, of Joplin and James Sabo and wife, Janelle, of Indianapolis, Indiana; three granddaughters, Claire, Kathryn and Sophia Sabo; four siblings, Susan, Sandy, Richard, and Billy; Lana’s family, her son, Chad Thoreson and wife, Lisa, and her grandchildren Mikayla and Mitchell Thoreson. 







The family wishes to thank Cheryl and Verna with Phoenix Hospice for the love and special care they gave to Tedd.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2022 from 1-3:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. 

In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to VFW Post 534 in Joplin c/o the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin.
