Herb Sites

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

John Herbert “Herbie” Sites, of Noel, Missouri, left this life on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Herb entered this life on Monday, February 5, 1951, in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, born to the late Herbert and Lila (Irby) Sites.

Herb was a simple and ornery man. He enjoyed classic cars, and motorcycle rallies.

In his younger days, he was an over the road truck driver, traveling to many places and seeing many interesting things. If you were to go on a road trip with Herb, be prepared to hit the backroads and keep your eye out for old cars.

Herb was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. Throughout his time in Vietnam, he earned several medals and awards for his honorable and brave service to his country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer Sites and Woody Sites; and one sister, Cathy Sites.

Herb is survived by two brothers, Bob Sites and wife, Mary, Petey Sites and long-term partner, Shelly Carmichael; one sister, Sheri Sites; three children, Debra Kurtz, Jason Sites, and Jeremiah Sites; six grandchildren, Logan Kurtz, Jenna Kurtz, Hannah Kurtz, Megan Kurtz, Owen Kurtz, and Cameron Sites; and the newest love of his life, Lila Kurtz, his first great granddaughter.

He will always be remembered for his smile and ability to bring a laugh to everyone. He will be missed by many, especially his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 11:00 am at the Red Barn in Noel, MO.

Online condolences can be made on our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com. Services are entrusted to Ozark Funeral Home, in Anderson, Missouri.
