Joyce Durham

Mrs. Joyce M. Durham, 90, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at her residence.

Joyce entered this life on January 12, 1932, in Goodman, Missouri, the youngest of thirteen children born to the late James Floyd and Stella (Hale) Morgan. 

On August 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gene Durham and to this union a daughter and two sons were born. After she and Gene were married they made their home for a short while in Lebanon, Oregon. 








Upon returning home to Anderson, they founded Durham Construction. Joyce assisted her husband daily in the operation of their business. They built well over a hundred homes in McDonald, Newton and Jasper County. She enjoyed spending countless hours with her family and attending worship services at Faith Chapel in Anderson.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband of sixty-seven years, Gene Durham on February 20, 2015; and all of her siblings.






 

Joyce is survived by her three children, Charolette Spencer and husband, Sam, of Anderson, Mark Durham and wife, Kerri, also of Anderson and Gary Durham of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Mike Spencer, Justin Durham, Holly Beeman, Derek Durham and Vanessa Young; six great grandchildren, Felecity Durham (whom they raised and thought of as a daughter), Cade Ramsey, Chance Barker, Aliyah Durham, Trenton Durham and Derek Durham, Jr.; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson with Pastor Derald Compton officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. 

 Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
