Phyllis Woods

Phyllis Carelene “Reece” Woods, age 75, of Jay, OK., passed away on August 27th with her beloved family by her side.

Phyllis was born on October 15th, 1946, in Jay, OK. to Jack and Dovie (Blevins) Reece.

She graduated from Jay High School in 1963. On Feb 1, 1964, she was united in marriage to Ernest Franklin Woods. They resided in the Southwest City, MO/OK community.








Phyllis was an amazing and talented piano player. She enjoyed sharing her gift of music at her Church and various public events. She loved cooking delicious food for family and friends, she never let a guest leave without eating. 

Phyllis loved spending time with her children and grandchildren attending numerous sporting events and activities. She would always encourage them with love, along with many prayers for their safety. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She cherished each and every one of those relationships and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dovie Reece of Jay, OK, sisters, Doris Cox of Seattle, WA, Shirley Norris of Monett, MO., Peggy Gibe of Grove, OK., and her husband Ernest Franklin Woods of Jay, OK.








Left to cherish her memory: son Frank Woods and wife Karen of Southwest City, MO., daughter Nancy Noble and husband Darrin of Jay, OK, son Landon “Joe” Woods and wife Miranda of Grove, OK; six cherished grandchildren: Jimmy Roach and wife Micah of Jay, OK, Josh Roach and wife Kristen of Grove, OK, MacKenzie Woods of Bentonville, AR, Zack Woods of Southwest City, MO, Sterling Woods of Southwest City, MO, and Dustin Noble of Claremore, OK; and seven great grandchildren; Aubree, Peyton, JJ, Kaedy, Hadley, Kendal, Gabe, Phoebe, Emberlee.

She also leaves behind one sister; Inez Crittenden of Grove, OK.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 noon with funeral services starting at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, MO with Pastor Richard Hart and Jimmy C. Roach officiating. Phyllis will be laid to rest in the Southwest City Cemetery.
