(From Clark Funeral Home)Vernon K. Pogue, Jr. was born December 10, 1937, in Neosho, Missouri, one of four children to Vernon K. Pogue, Sr., and Martha (Wilbanks) Pogue. He entered into rest on August 22, 2022, at his home in Neosho, Missouri, at age 84.
Vernon graduated from Stella High School in 1955 and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. He lived in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years, where he worked as a commodities broker at the Board of Trade. He later returned to Neosho and worked as a financial planner.
Vernon enjoyed fishing, doing genealogy, and anything that involved Civil War History. Vernon is survived by two children, Victor Lee Pogue and wife, Joy of Rockmont, Georgia, and Cheryl Stuver and husband, Donnie of Keytesville, Missouri; grandchildren, Caleb Pogue, Matthew Pogue and wife, Kaci, Rebecca Pogue, Ashlee Mosier and husband, Brad and Hillary Moore and husband, Josh; great-grandchildren, Max, Maya, Preston, Skyler and Piper and a sister, Marie McKinney, and husband, Frank of Neosho.
Masonic services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 5:30 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho; visitation will follow until 7 pm. Graveside services will be at 10 am Thursday at Macedonia Cemetery, Stella, Missouri.
