(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Edward Leon Haddock, 87 of Goodman, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at his home.
Edward aka “Big Ed” or “Poppy” was born February 14,1935 in Puckett, Missouri east of Anderson to the late Edd and Ada L. (Parman) Haddock. He was a lifelong resident of McDonald County and attended school in the Puckett Community, he left school in the 8th grade to go to work to help provide for the family.
He was united in marriage to Colleen Reardon on May 28,1956 in Anderson, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born. He worked at the chicken processing plant in Anderson and later worked at the Machine Shop in Neosho, with the last several years spent cleaning the Goodman Locker, building fence, and hauling cattle.
Edward loved camping, fishing and sitting on his front porch waving as people drove by. His family was his whole world the best times of his life were spent loving and teasing his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
To know Poppy was to know a gentle, subtle love, yet so significant to every person loved by him. Family was more than a word to Poppy, it was an action, It was the choice he was excited to choose every time, To Poppy family time was everything.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dollie Brazeal and Betty Brown, three brothers-in-law Bud and Joe Reardon and Dave Norris and three sisters-in-law Donna Haddock, Doren Jansen and Cheryl Reardon.
Edward is survived by his wife of 66 years Colleen of the home, a daughter; Cheryl L. Carden (Curtis), grandkids, Tanya Lewis (Heith), Khristi Auch (Jeremiah) and Joshua Johnston-Wimpey (Alex), great grandkids, Kyla Hopkins (Tyler), Brett Lewis (Shelby), Chloe, Cayden and Parker Auch, great great grandkids, Cooper and Casen Hopkins and Hadley and Harper Lewis, brothers; Gene, Delbert, Ralph and Jerry Haddock, and sisters; Edna Adams, and Darlene Roark as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Leon Haddock will be held Monday August 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Goodman Baptist Church in Goodman, Missouri with Pastor Reece Morrow officiating. His grandchildren will honor his life by serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery.
