Joy Halseth

(From Parker Mortuary)

Joyce “Joy” Josette Halseth, age 70, Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 20th, 2022.

Joy was born March 12th, 1952 in Sheldon, Missouri to the union of Joe and Jackie (Stites) Hardy. She moved to the Joplin area around 1970.

Joy was the ultimate people person who loved to cook. She worked many jobs throughout the Joplin area that entailed her working with people, food, or both. She was an amazing cook, and so many people can attest to this. She has happily cooked for many, whether it was for her son’s football team, co-workers, family, friends and, of course, her holiday meals were like no other. She would always go above and beyond to create the ultimate meal for you.

Joy was always on the go, staying busy, and helping others. She was a good friend to all. Her kind heart, and her amazing social skills, is what made Joy, a joy to be around.

Joy was preceded in death by her mother, who she referred to as her best friend, Jackie Hardy; her father, Joe Hardy; two brothers, Randy Hardy and Mark Hardy; and a nephew Austin Hardy.

Joy is survived by her two children, Yancy McKnight and wife, Lynn, of Lucas, TX, and Chance Halseth, of Joplin, MO; daughter-in-law, Merrie Tang; three amazing grandchildren that she loved dearly, Mollie Halseth, Brody McKnight, and Brock McKnight; one aunt, Phyllis Stites; one nephew, Michael Hardy; a great niece, Alexandria Hardy.

There will be a memorial visitation held on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 in Parker Mortuary Chapel from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Arrangements are under the care of Parker Mortuary.
