Mark Harrington

Mark Duane Harrington, Age 62 of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Mark was born to Herbert Max Harrington and Rilda Ann (Surridge) Harrington, both deceased, of Miami, OK. He graduated from Miami High School with the Class of 1978.








Mark was married to Sheila Kay (Martin) Harrington in Blytheville, Arkansas on June 5th, 1992. She survives of the home. 

Additional survivors include their three children, Nick Harrington (girlfriend, Scarlet Davis-Bissing) of the home, Miranda Garrison (husband, Paul) of Carl Junction, MO, and Emmaline Buckman (husband, Brandon) of Hickory, NC; eleven grandchildren; one twin brother, Max Harrington (wife, Patricia) of St. Louis, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mark was a member of the I.B.E.W. L.U. #95 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union) from 1989 to 2013 where he was employed as a Senior Instrument Electrical Engineer at Empire District at the Combined Cycle Stateline Power Plant, Galena, KS/Joplin, MO, until he retired in 2013. 








Mark’s hobbies were riding motorcycles, shooting guns, and spending time with his grandkids. Mark was an active KC Chiefs fan, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Baxter Springs, KS.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Fellowship Baptist Church of Baxter Springs. Pastor Shane Dotson will officiate. Pallbearers serving will be Randy Herron, Bill Kerns, Don Greer, Jim Putnam, Zachary Harrington, and C.J. Mitchell, Jr. Burial will follow at Glen Abbey Cemetery, Miami, OK.
