(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Kevin Wayne McKinzie, age 65 of Joplin, passed away at his home at 7:25 AM on Friday, August 26, 2022 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kevin was born in Miami, OK on May 14, 1957 to the union of Melvin McKinzie and Colleen (Johnston) McKinzie. He was a lifetime resident of the four-state area and served our country in the US Air Force for 5 years earning the rank of E5 Staff Sergeant.
He had worked for several different companies as a machinist and factory worker, most recently at AJM Packaging. He enjoyed watching movies and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Colleen McKinzie.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Kim Olds of the home; one brother, Ben McKinzie of Galena; two sisters, Georgia Ketterman of Galena, and Anna McKinzie of Joplin; one son, Kevin McKinzie, Jr. of Vancouver, WA; two daughters, Keisa Williams of Utah, and Keaura McKinzie of Joplin; 5 nieces and nephews; and several grandchildren who he loved dearly.
