Bobby Kearney

Mr. Bobby Franklin Kearney, 92, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Joplin Gardens, after a recent battle with cancer.

Bobby entered this life on August 21, 1930, in Pecos, Texas, son of the late Frank and Jettie Elizabeth (Eatman) Kearney. His formative years were spent in El Paso, Texas and Bentonville, Arkansas, graduating from Bentonville High School in 1948.








Following high school, Bobby enlisted and served his country faithfully in the United States Navy. After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Texas in 1954. While visiting family in Arkansas, Bobby attended a Gospel Camp Meeting, while there, he met a beautiful young lady, Rosalee Cooper and on June 20, 1956, they married. They resided in Texas and Nevada before moving to Joplin, Missouri, in 1962. He was employed by Uni-Royal Tire in Joplin for twenty-four years as their accountant and bookkeeper. After the tire company closed, he worked at Battery Warehouse until his retirement. He enjoyed horses, gardening, fishing and camping. Bobby was a member of 26th and Connecticut Joplin Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosalee Kearney on March 20, 2018; a son, David Lee Kearney; and two siblings, Billy Jarrell and Marjorie Chandler.








Bobby is survived by his three children, Susan Duffy and husband, Tim, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Lisa Cave and husband, Lynn, of Springdale, Arkansas and Robert Kearney of Bentonville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022, in the Chapel of Parker Mortuary with Richard Chambers officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.
