(From Knell Mortuary)Donald Ray “Moose” Moorehouse, 81, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at his home. He was born on June 21, 1941, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of the late Andy and Helene (Horton) Moorehouse.
Donald grew up in Carthage, graduating from Carthage High School with the class of 1959. After high school he joined the Navy and started a career with Bell Telephone Co.
Donald would go on to install many phones including for Ronald Reagan the Gov. of California. He then went to work for the Military Sea Lift Command where he retired after 20 years.
During his years with the Military Sea Lift Command, he would visit every seaport in the world. After retirement he moved back to Carthage where he loved spending time at Kellogg Lake fishing. He had many friends and was known for his big heart and willingness to always help someone in need.
Donald is survived by a brother Larry Moorehouse (Patricia), Glendale, California, several nieces, and nephews; and sister in-laws, Ann Moorehouse, and Doris Moorehouse.
Donald was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Moorehouse, and Ronald Moore House; a sister, Penny Coats; a nephew, Jeff Moorehosue; and a niece Melody Lynn Moorehouse.
Services are pending and will be announced by the Knell Mortuary.
