Goldie Redman

Mrs. Goldie May (Maggard) Redman, 81, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Goldie was born on Saturday, April 5, 1941 in Carthage, Missouri to the union of the late Leonard and Marjorie (Pennington) Maggard. 

On September 20, 1978 she was united in marriage to Kenton Dale Redman. Together they shared thirty-six years of memories until his passing on July 1, 2012. 








For many years she worked at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center as a CNA. She was a member of New Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed games with her friends and cross word puzzles. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenton Dale Redman; and great-grandson, Colter King Harmon.

Goldie is survived by her children, Tanya Hunter (Danny) of Sarcoxie, Claude Shanklin of Golden City, Steve Shanklin of Golden City, Billy Shanklin of Lamar and Kevin Redman (Shannon) of Mindenmines; grandchildren, Brian Hanna (Destiny), Kriston Hunter (Justin), Kylie Hanna, Cory Hunter (Tasha), Kia Vasquez (Fritz), Brandon Redman (Stephanie) and Jordan Redman; great-grandchildren, Alana Simler, Wayne Delano, Chaslynn Simler, Emrick Harmon, Gunner McMahan, Weston Hunter, Cohen Hunter, Brantley Hunter, Cameron Hunter, Braylon Hunter, Remington Hunter, Freddy Vasquez, Oliver Vasquez and baby Hudson Redman due in March; siblings, Joe Maggard of Lamar, Richard Maggard (Liz), Phillip Maggard (Sharon), Darrell Maggard (Mary), Danny Maggard, all of Carthage, Terry Maggard (Ruth) of Aurora, Gary Maggard, the Villages, Florida, Carol Boggs, Wentworth, Barbara Lee, Cheryl Hill (Max), Gloria Lewis (Harold), all of Carthage, Linda Davis of Grove, Oklahoma and Irma Landes of Sarcoxie; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.








Funeral services for Mrs. Redman are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor Marvin Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Reeds Cemetery. 

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Brian Hanna, Justin Hunter, Cory Hunter, Brandon Redman, Kelby Endicott and Caleb Endicott. Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Redman, Joseph Endicott, Joshua Endicott and Morgan Hummel.
