(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)James “Jimmy” Gerald Johnson of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Monday, December 12, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 84.
Jimmy was born December 29, 1937 in Cherokee County, KS to William and Dimple (Nixon) Johnson. He had lived in the Quapaw and Picher area most of his life.
Jimmy graduated from Picher – Cardin High School class of 1956 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an electrician and a member of Local 584 in Tulsa and Local 25 in Joplin, MO and a member of First United Methodist Church of Quapaw, OK.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Johnny Johnson and an infant brother and 4 sisters, Betty June Johnson, Irene Johnson, Jewel Boggs and Colleen Daugherty.

Survivors include his wife Michaela “Mickey (Laramore) Johnson of the home, 2 sons, James “Jimbo” Johnson and wife Tina of Stillwater, OK and Jerry Johnson and wife Michelle of Fairland, OK, 1 sister, Fae Anna Moreland of Neosho, MO and 4 grandchildren , Jay Johnson, Jared Johnson, Breanne Johnson and Amada Johnson and 1 great grandchild.
Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK. Rev. Tim Mixson will officiate. The family will have a reception following the services at Paul Thomas Family Center in Miami, OK.
