Marcella McBride

Marcella Lorraine McBride, age 106, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the Seneca House in Seneca.

Marcella, daughter of the late Lester Earl and Sylvia Dean (Conlon) Minnis, was born on August 2, 1916, in Harvel, IL. She was the third of eight children and attended school in Illinois until she moved to California at a young age. 









 
She was united in marriage to Elmer McBride in California in 1967. Together they moved to Joplin to make their home. Marcella was employed at Vickers Manufacturing until her retirement. Elmer preceded her in death on June 29, 1988. Marcella was an animal lover, gardener, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader, especially classic westerns. She was a talented artist and was noted for her amazing writing ability and vocabulary.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lavora Flint, of Morrisonville, IL, Ruthe M Wallace, of Cerro Gordo, IL, Merle James Minnis, Delmar L Minnis, and Donald R Minnis, all of Morrisonville, IL, Melba R Storer, of Litchfield, IL, and Temple D Minnis, of Farmersville, IL. 








She is survived by a special niece, Beverly Storer, of Decatur, IL; numerous nieces and nephews in the Bolivar and central Illinois area; special friends and neighbors, Jeremiah and Jennifer Anderson family, Melvin and Susanne Glisson, of rural Joplin, and Helen Boman, of Joplin.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Payne Cemetery in Bolivar, MO.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
