Robert Madl

Robert Eugene Madl, 95, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on December 03, 2022, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St Paul, Kansas.

Robert was born on August 15, 1927, to Herbert and Edna (Beach) Madl in Saint Paul, Kansas. Robert graduated from Walnut High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1946. 

He married Wanda Ewan on May 14, 1955, at St. Michael's Church in Girard, Kansas. 

He worked as a Grocery Clerk at Consumers for 40 years and was a Pittsburg resident for 60 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son, Ken Madl (Julie) of Pittsburg, KS; two brothers, Alban Madl of Girard, KS, and George Madl of Altus, OK; two sisters, Mary Ann Torgler of Kansas City, MO, and Delores Trueblood of Concordia, KS; three granddaughters, Kelly Humble (Orin) of Girard, KS, Rebecca VanBecelaere (Eric) of Pittsburg, KS, and Jessica Madl of Joplin, MO; two great-granddaughters, Addison and Grace VanBecelaere both of Pittsburg, KS; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Hunter Newcomb both of Pittsburg, KS.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, two sisters, Regina Smith and Clara Lorene Sevart.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be 3:00 PM Friday December 9, 2022, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Jim Sukraw officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund.
