(From Fohn Funeral Home)Russell Don Cole, age 89 of Wheaton, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
He was born November 24, 1933 in Exeter, Missouri, the son of Garr and Blanche (Hulett) Cole.
On June 21, 1958 in Alsey, Illinois he was united in marriage to Betty Ann Jefferson, who preceded him in death on August 2, 2017.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Cal, Todd, Bill and Garr Lloyd and two sisters, Helen Pettis and Darlene McCracken.
He is survived by one daughter Diane (Pamela), of Joplin, Missouri, two sons David (Amy) of Cassville and Douglas (Patricia) of Gladstone, Missouri and a brother John Cole (Linda) of Exeter, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Russell grew up and attended school in Exeter and later attaining an Associate's Degree in Tool & Dye Design from Franklin Technical College in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War.
He was employed at Weaver Manufacturing in Springfield, Illinois for several years. He returned to Barry County in 1971, where he operated a poultry farm and raised beef cattle. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wheaton.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Mark Hall will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Russell.
