(From Midland Cremation Society)Billy Dean Barnett 90 of Fort Scott Ks passed away July 4, 2023, He was son of (Johny) Marvin and Ester Barnett Born June 18, 1933, in Ottawa County Ok.
He was raised in Seneca Mo. after high school he joined the Navy, and then several years later joined the Army National Guard.
Billy is survived by his wife Mary Virginia Barnett of Fort Scott Ks, Daughters Lisa Goad and husband Paul of Galena Ks, Susan Weddle and husband Albert of Fort Scott Ks, Stepsons Randy Bohlken and wife Kerri of Fort Scott Ks, Tony Bohlken and wife Dana of Mt. Vernon Tx, Mark Bohlken and wife Annette of Garland Ks, and Rodney Bohlken of Garland Ks, and 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia Jean, and a grandson Matthew.
Billy enjoyed running heavy equipment. He drove a semi, bulldozers, even flew small planes, He drove a school bus for several years. He also worked on summer crews for USD 234. There he was quite a jokester always pulling stuff on the guys he worked with.
After his retirement he enjoyed working with his cattle and taking care of the farm. Billy loved his family above anything else. He will be forever loved and missed by all of his family and friends.
