Junior Brinkhoff

Elmer “Junior” Brinkhoff passed away from this life on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at his home in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 91 years.

Junior was born on May 18, 1932, in Lockwood, Missouri, to Elmer and Sophie (Lilienkamp) Brinkhoff. He graduated from Lockwood High School in 1950. 








Junior was inducted into the Army serving from 1952-1954 including the Korean War where he received the rank of Corporal. He was a surveyor in the 1st Observation Battalion. 

Junior was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood where he was a lifelong member. He loved being a grain farmer and tending his beef herd on the family farm on Deer Creek, in northeastern Jasper County where he and Anna resided for 62 years before retiring and moving to Carthage.

Junior was united in marriage to Anna Mae Stolting on November 17, 1957. Together they raised three children, Julie Anna, Andrea Sue, and Brian Kent. Junior and Anna celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Junior served on the Jasper County Farm Bureau Board and was active in the Jasper VFW. The Brinkhoff family hosted three foreign exchange students: one from France and two from Belgium. Junior and his family were honored to be Jasper County Farm Family in 1976. He and Anna enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Jasper Eagles Club.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Sophie Brinkhoff; brother, Charles Brinkhoff; sister-in-law, Diane Brinkhoff; and nephew, Mike Brinkhoff.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna; daughters, Julie Brinkhoff, and Andrea Shepherd (Marvin); son, Brian Brinkhoff (Tammi); 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four nieces; one nephew; and a host of relatives and friends.








Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023. Burial will be at Park Cemetery following the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood, Missouri, or a charity of your choice in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
