(From Daniel Funeral Home)Dennis Leroy Barnum, age 69, of Lamar, Missouri passed away July 4, 2023.
Dennis was born November 14, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri to Orval Thomas Barnum and Venita Ann (Kirk) Barnum. Dennis graduated from Eldorado Springs, Missouri High School in the class of 1973.
He attended trucking school in Neosho, Missouri.
Dennis was a truck driver for CFI and Ganey Trucking, earning several awards. He retired from the U.S. Post Office. Dennis loved fishing, hunting, and watching old movies. While he was driving the semi he enjoyed listening to books on tape.
Survivors include four sisters, Sharon Ray from Eagle Rock, Missouri, Barbara (Steven) Wolf from Lamar, MO., Janet Leslie from Kansas City, Missouri, and Judy (Donald) Riley from Splendora, Texas; nine nephews, Carl Ray, Gerald Watts, Justin Watts, Jacob Watts, Steven Moore, Christopher Moore, Jeffery Moore, Jerry Barnum and Tyler Barnum; three nieces, Debra Winans, Melissa Chambers, and Amber Starman.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Venita Barnum, an infant brother, Robert and brother-in-law, John Ray.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rockville Cemetery in Rockville, Missouri.
