Mark Alan McGowen of Joplin, MO passed from this life Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Joplin, MO. He was 60.

Mark was born January 15, 1963 in Grants, NM to Robert Eugene "Goose" and Stella Jean (Hankins) McGowen. He graduated from Picher-Cardin High School in Picher, OK in 1982. He had lived in Picher and Miami before moving to Joplin 5 years ago.

He worked as a team leader at General Mills in Joplin for nearly 30 years. He had been a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Picher.

He was preceded in death by his parents Goose and Stella McGowen.

Mark is survived by 3 daughters, Chelsie McGowen of Joplin, MO, Emma McGowen of Fairland, OK and Addison McGowen of Fairland, OK, his brother, Dennis McGowen and his wife Kristi of Joplin, MO, the mother of his daughters, Lisa McGowen of Fairland, OK, his granddaughter, Baylor Nelson, his uncle, Dick McGowen and his wife Carol of Miami, OK and 2 nieces, Chanci McGowen of Rogers, AR and Payton Hoffner of Chesterfield, MO.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK with Darrel Smith and Danny Garner officiating. Dennis McGowen, Jamie Rickey, Dick McGowen, Mike Bounds, Alan Wilkerson and Andrew Rickey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Dial, Brian Martin, Alec Rickey and Luckey Nelson.
