Audrey attended her secondary education in Encino, California. It was during her time in California that she met and married her husband, James B. Vaughn on January 9, 1953.

With his service in the Army, they moved to the state of Washington until he finished his service time. Eventually, the two moved to Richland, Missouri where they settled and became a huge part of the community.

It was 45 years later that she moved to Joplin to be closer to her son and daughter in-law for the past 10 years.

While in Richland, Audrey was continually active with Richland First Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher and childcare teacher. Audrey had a passion for crafts and homemade items, giving them to many of her family and friends. For about 10 years during the winter months, they would turn into snowbirds, heading to Arizona to be near her family and where they took up golf.
