(From Parker Mortuary)Vivian Lee Price (Boggs), 76, of Joplin, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 12th, after a battle with lung cancer.
Vivian was born to parents Harold and Ruth Boggs on August 9th, 1947, in Charleston, WV. and graduated from Herbert Hoover High School before attending college in Fairmont, WV.
The love of her life Bernie Price stole her heart and married her a short time later in Elkview, WV on February 24th, 1967. After a brief time living in an apartment on a hill in South Charleston, the two moved to Elkview, WV and bought a modest house atop a hill. While there, Vivian was blessed with three children and devoted herself to the work of keeping a home and raising children.
When the economic winds changed in 1980, the family embarked on a trek westward, to Joplin, MO, where they once again bought a house on top of a hill. Vivian would go on to live in that home for forty-three years.
Vivian was a loving wife, devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Joplin, MO, and a loyal friend to many. When she was not volunteering in the many capacities within the church, or spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed gardening in her yard. Vivian worked for many years for area florists and leading St. Paul’s community outreach program, “Homebound Services” as the Director.
