Barbara Twenter

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Beloved mother, Barbara Ann (Luke) Twenter, age 82, left this earthly world to join Jesus in heaven on Friday, November 17, 2023.

Barbara was mother to Ronald Campbell (Lee Ann Campbell) of Liberty, Missouri, Michael Campbell of Kansas City, Missouri, Susan Campbell (JT Anderson) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Krista (Twenter) Ideker of Joplin, Missouri. She was also grandmother to six grandchildren: Raegan Campbell, Brennan Campbell, Cadence Campbell, Oscar Anderson, Izzy Ideker, and Eli Ideker.

Barbara Ann Luke was born to parents Forrest Luke and Mildred (Lowry) Luke on December 19, 1940. During her childhood, Barb made many joyful memories in the Joplin area with her siblings, Forrest Luke Jr., Dorothy (Luke) Van Volkinburg, Mildred Sue (Luke) Hansen, and William “Bill” Luke.

Barbara was a resident of Joplin for the majority of her life. She worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse at St. John’s Hospital and Joplin Nephrology. Her playful personality and nurturing spirit both delighted and brought comfort to her patients and staff.

Barbara was a vivacious woman who enjoyed laughing, loving, and dancing in the kitchen. She was an avid music lover who was always ready to “boogie”. Stylish to a fault, Barbara sought to make everything in her world as beautiful and stunning as she was. A devoted mother of four children, Barbara made many sacrifices to always be present and to provide for her family. She was the beloved “Grammy” and “Grandma T” to six grandchildren that she adored and was more than happy to spoil endlessly.

As a lifelong Christian, Barbara loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is assuredly rejoicing in heaven with Him and reuniting in celebration with her loved ones that have also passed into His care.

Funeral services for Barbara Ann will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Mason Woodard Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with a full service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Barbara’s chosen location of eternal rest; Saginaw Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
