(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Larry Liggett, 77, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. Larry was born on May 2, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Robert Leslie Liggett and Opal Pearl (Shutt) Liggett.
He worked as an engineer for IBM for over 30 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene-Neosho, and a sports fanatic. He was a huge L.A. Dodgers fan, and a scholar at sports trivia. Above all Larry loved Jesus and wanted to share him as much as possible with family, friends & even strangers.
Larry was joined in marriage to Joyce Luelf on May 24, 1980; she survives.
Along with his wife Joyce Liggett, he is survived by his daughter Lauren Liggett of Joplin, one sister, Mary Johnston (Sam) of Avon, Indiana, mother-in-law, Loretta Luelf of Carthage, MO, sister-in-law Sharon Eaton of Gallatin, TN and nephews and niece.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Marvin Luelf, brother-in-law Paul Luelf, and nephew Aaron Johnston.
Per the family’s wishes, Larry will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life for Larry on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 4:00pm at Neosho Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, the
family is requesting contributions made to the Larry Liggett Children’s Camp Fund at
www.neoshonaz.org.
