Bob Wetzel

Bob J. Wetzel, 87, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest November 15, 2023 at the Seneca Nursing Facility after a long illness.

Bobby Jack Wetzel was born October 19, 1936 in Cardin Nine, OK the son of Hugh Henry and Mary (Zelgar) Wetzel. Bob had lived in the area all his life. He loved music and singing. Bob loved being outdoors, especially being on his tractor. Later in life Bob enjoyed watching the boys working on the farm. He was a member of Hart Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon. He went on mission trips to build churches.

Bobby Jack Wetzel married Jeanetta V. Hodson May 10, 1960 in McDonald County, MO and she preceded him in death August 27, 2022. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents and by all his siblings.

Additional survivors include his children; Cheryl Gilbert and husband Randy, Neosho, Robert Wetzel and wife Bonnie, Seneca and Dennis Wetzel and wife Dorsey, Seneca; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, November 20, 2023 at Hart Baptist Church with Scott Hill and Evert Staib officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery with Travis Sampson, Kaleb Gilbert, Doug Wetzel, Randy Wetzel, Joe Banker and Jordan Hamilton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Rogers and Mike Reed.
