Debra Castle

Debra Castle, 68, of Galesburg, died at 6:33 P.M., Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul.

She was born February 20, 1955 at Parsons, a daughter of Charles Virgil and Virginia Ruth (Brooks) Elsworth. She was raised at Parsons and attended school here, graduating from Parsons High School with the Class of 1973. After completing high school she began working at Fred Ronald’s. When the factory closed, she worked at Broderick’s and later Dwayne’s Photo, Signature Sportsware and most recently, Cobalt Boats. She retired in 2021.







On July 25, 1975 she was united in marriage to David L. Castle at the Calvery Baptist Church at Parsons. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2022.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, making clothing, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include: one daughter and son in-law – Carrie and Craig Brownewell, Lebanon, MO; five grandchildren – Bryce Robinson, Chanute, KS, Megan Robinson, and her companion, Killian Church, Chanute, KS, Rebekah Brownewell, Ft. Scott, KS, Craig Brownewell, Jr., Lebanon, MO, Haley Brownewell, Lebanon, MO; three great-grandchildren – John Robinson, Maverick Robinson, both of Chanute and Sapphire Church, of Chanute; two brothers - Charles Duane Elsworth, and his wife, Ruth, Rural Cherryvale, KS, Tim Elsworth, Parsons, KS; two sisters – Beth Vincenti, Joplin, MO, Patricia Stipp, Las Vegas, NV. 








She was preceded in death by two brothers – Tom and Steve Elsworth.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Hammer officiating. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Galesburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time Friday at the funeral home.
