(From Ozark Funeral Home)Naomi Jane Stanford, 90, of Anderson, Missouri, known affectionately by all as Jane, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, at the home of her granddaughter in Anderson, Missouri, after months of failing health. Born on December 18, 1932, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Whittington) Frye.
Jane grew up and attended school in Monrovia, California. On May 21, 1949, she married the love of her life, Paul Allen Stanford, Sr., and to this union four children were born. Jane was a dedicated mother and wife, always putting the needs of her family before her own.
She worked as a cook at DeAnza School, where she touched the lives of countless students, retiring in 1996. In 2001, she and Paul moved to Anderson, Missouri, to enjoy live on Indian Creek. Jane was an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of a good book. She also enjoyed working in her yard and attending worship services at First Baptist Church in Anderson.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Paul Allen Stanford, Sr., who passed away on February 5, 2007; two daughters, Patricia Anderton and Penny Black; a son, Paul “Bub” Stanford, Jr.; a great-grandson, Kaden Jackson; a sister, Millie Hackney; and a brother, Charles Frye. Her loss is deeply felt by those who loved her, but they take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Pam McRell of Bella Vista, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Ezra McRell, Melissa Jackson and husband, Jared, Brian Roullard, Alex Stanford, and Jeremy Stanford; and seven great-grandchildren, two of which helped care for her, Tyler and Jacob Jackson. She is also survived by her brother, Reese Frye of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a host of other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family will hold a memorial gathering at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
