(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Patricia Mae (DeGraffenreid) Jarvis-Stansberry, age 88 of Galena, KS, passed away at 9:20 AM on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Foxberry Terrace Assisted Living in Webb City, MO.
Patricia was born in Galena, KS on September 17, 1935 to the union of Elmer Donald DeGraffenreid and Viola Beatrice (Fry) DeGraffenreid. She attended Galena schools and was a lifelong resident of Galena.
She enjoyed cooking, selling her Mary Kay products, canning, and flower gardening.
She and her husband, Clyde welcomed several foster children into their home over the years. She worked as a cook at Riverton Schools, Galena Schools, Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City, MO, Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO, and the Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, KS. She was a longtime member of Bethel Community Church in Baxter Springs, where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was "Grandma Pat" to hundreds of people.
She was united in marriage with Bill Jarvis on June 17, 1951 in Arkansas. She later married Clyde J. Stansberry on March 12, 1988 at the Old Tennessee Prairie Church in rural Baxter Springs. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2023.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; as well as her brother, James "Jimmy" DeGraffenreid.

Survivors include one son, William "Billy" Jarvis of Galena; two daughters, Sharon Tucker (husband, Doug) of Joplin, and Susie Sweet of Galena; one sister, Diane Brand of Galena; one step-son, Ronnie Stansberry (wife, Valerie) of Yorba Linda, CA; one step-daughter, Melinda Stansberry-Harris (husband, Greg) of Corona, CA; one stepdaughter-in-law Robin Stansberry of Riverside, CA; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Bethel Community Church in Baxter Springs. Pastor Mark Kerr will officiate. Burial will take place at Lowell Cemetery, rural Baxter Springs.
A visitation will take place from 6-7:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Community Church in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
