Diana Bjorklund

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diana Lynn Bjorklund, 71, on November 6, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on August 3, 1952 in Carthage, MO to Floyd and Evelyn Rice. 

From the age of three she grew up in Hawthorne, California where she graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1970. She returned to Missouri in 1975 where she lived until her passing.

Diana Lynn Bjorklund will be remembered as a loving parent, devoted spouse, caring sibling and fun grandmother. She was known for her kindness, hospitality, generosity, and love of family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Richard Henry Bjorklund. 

She is survived by her two daughters and three grandchildren. Her daughters, Christy Kilpatrick and Kelly McGregor, her son-in-law, James Kilpatrick, Jr., and her grandchildren, Abigail Kilpatrick, Emma Kilpatrick and Calvin Kilpatrick. She is also survived by her brothers William Rice of Golden City, MO, Joseph Rice of Carthage, MO, and James Rice of Hawthorne, CA and a sister Debra Rice of Carterville, MO. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Evelyn Rice.

Diana Bjorklund worked as an accountant for 27 years for O’Sullivan Industries, Fleming Foods and St. John’s Hospital. She was also an active member of the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Joplin where she volunteered her time doing community Bible education work.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 1pm at the Kingdom Hall
of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1201 S. Schifferdecker Avenue, Joplin, MO
